We are a new Group and have decided to initially concentrate on English Medieval History. This is a fascinating period with great stories covering the Norman Conquest, Magna Carta, the Black Death and the Wars of the Roses as well as riveting characters such as William the Conqueror , Richard the Lionheart , (Bad) King John, Henry V ( of Agincourt fame)  and Richard III.

We encourage lively discussion with challenges and as many opinions as possible. Once we have covered the medieval era, we will be looking at later aspects of the rich History of the UK. None of us are professional historians but we all share an energy and enthusiasm for this subject. We hope to organise one or two annual trips to visits in London ( for example, to the British Museum for the forthcoming huge exhibition on the Bayeux Tapestry) and the South East covered by our discussions

So if you ever wanted to know more about how our country has evolved to where it is now , do come and join us.
