As well as reviewing the current group Whodunnit novel we share views of current crime fiction as seen on the television, and suggest any books or authors whose work we have read that other group members might enjoy.

The story involves family feuds of the local gentry who live in a crumbling stately home. Ruth identifies the body as a member of the family. Events are complicated by a film crew, filming the deserted air force bases, which are now a pig farm. Then human bones are found on the farm. With a massive storm brewing, and another family member attacked, can the outrace the storm and find the killer? |
| October The Castlemaine Murders by Kerry Greenwood | Phryne Fisher, her sister Beth and her maid Dot decide to visit Luna Park for an afternoon of fun. But on a trip on the Ghost Train a mummified, bullet studded body falls to the ground in front of them. The pleasure trip becomes business. | December Faithful Place by Tana French | Frank Mackey is a veteran detective on Dublin’s police force. He left his neighbourhood when he was 19 but memories haunt him. His girlfriend Rosie was supposed to elope with hin but she never showed, he believed she had jilted him. The neighbours thought she had run away to England. 22 years later her packed suitcase is found in an abandoned house, then her body is found. It is not his case but he launches his own investigation – this is personal! |
